It’s a setback for the Hudack Progressive Conservatives.

Ontario’s integrity commissioner is refusing to investigate alleged Liberal attempts to intimidate the speaker of the legislature.

Tory MPP Vic Fedeli had asked Integrity Commissioner Lynn Morrison to investigate emails sent by senior officials to then premier Dalton McGuinty  pushing for Speaker Dave Levac to reverse a ruling which they feared would precipitate an election in the fall of 2012.

Morrison said today that she can’t investigate Fedeli’s complaint under the Members’ Integrity Act as requested  because it applies only to MPPs making complaints about each other not political staff.

Levac insisted earlier this week that he did not feel pressured noting that he did not change the ruling to suit the Liberals.
