Our own Marilyn Lightstone is changing things up in her life.  And while doing so, she’s donated some 135 pieces of artwork to St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation.  Marilyn made the announcement last night, that she will no longer exhibit her work at the Miles Nadal JCC.  “I’m a zoomer,” she told AM740/Classical 96.3FM News, “as a zoomer once told me years ago, we don’t retire, we recycle ourselves.  I want to do some more acting, I’d like to do some more singing, I’d like to do other creative work, perhaps do some more writing, write a book, I really don’t know at the moment.  But in order to do that, I need more time.  I can’t really commit myself to being in the studio four days a week.”

Last night was the closing reception for Marilyn’s “Salut Japan” exhibit at the Miles Nadal JCC.  Maria Dyck is the President of St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation.  She says Marilyn feels she can really make a positive difference for patients.  “Forty percent of our patients are in new space, but 60 percent of our patients are in older space, and we really want to make that better for people.  So, Marilyn’s art will really warm up our space.  It’ll make it beautiful.  And now, we’re going to redouble our fundraising efforts to make this space as nice as the works of art that will be on the wall.”
