Ontario’s contentious elevator strike is close to resolution. The union representing striking Ontario elevator workers says a new collective agreement has been reached with the National Elevator and Escalator Association. A Union spokesman says the three-year deal was reached late Friday afternoon with the help of a conciliator. The association says priority will be given to buildings with only one elevator, as the workers return to the job. Elevator workers across Ontario have been on strike since May 1st. All employees will be returning to work by July 10 at the latest.
