The Toronto District School Board wants the province to appoint an auditor to look at spending practices during the time that Chris Spence was director. The current Director of Education, Donna Quan says the request was made after concerns were raised by members of the board’s audit committee. In a letter to the Deputy Minister of Education, Quan asks for an audit of spending from September 2009 to June 2013. Board Chair Chris Bolton says a couple of trustees had concerns about some information they received. Education Minister Liz Sandals declined to comment as she headed into a cabinet meeting Wednesday. Spence resigned earlier this year over allegations of plagiarism.
