Cinderella came home from the ball with seven Dora Mavor Moore Awards last night.
The Young People’s Theatre production took the most awards at last night’s celebration of Toronto theatre, including best musical. Buddies in Bad Times’ production of Obaaberima won best production in the general theatre division.
The Canadian Opera Company’s Dialogue des Carmelites won the best production in the opera division. Johannes Debus won best musical direction for Dialogues.
The Mirvish production of The Wizard of Oz won the Audience Choice Award. And Lisa Horner won outstanding performance by a female in the musical theatre division for her Wicked Witch of the West.
