Another award for Canadian author Alice Munro.
The native of Wingham, Ontario, has won the Trillium Book Award in English for Dear Life: Stories. It’s a collection of stories set in the area around Lake Huron, which has been the inspiration for much of Munro’s work.
Munro has previously won the Man Booker Prize, three Governor-General Awards, and has been frequently mentioned as a Nobel Prize contender.
The French-language award goes to Paul Savoie for Bleu bemol.
Both authors receive $20,000.
Matthew Tierney won the English-language poetry award for Probably Inevitable. Claude Forand received the French-language Children’s literature award for Un Moine trop bavard.
Tierney and Forand each receive $10,000.
