Once again, the Canadian Opera Company is hitting the high notes at the box office.
Average attendance was at 90% for 2012/13 – with just over 114,000 opera fans attending 61 performances of the company’s seven mainstage productions in the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.
The COC sold almost 74,000 subscription tickets and nearly 35,000 single tickets – for a net ticket revenue of $9.9 million.
And younger patrons are coming to the opera – with at least 9,200 tickets sold to people under the age of 30.
The company was also honoured with 25 Dora Mavor Moore Award nominations.
The COC’s 2013 /14 season begins October 3rd.
