Extensive police raids throughout the GTA this morning, include people and locations connected to the alleged video showing Mayor Rob Ford smoking crack cocaine.
The Toronto Star is reporting that one of the locations for the raids was the home of one of the men shown in the infamous photo of Rob Ford outside the Dixon-Kipling area house said to be connected with drugs.
The Star says police raided the home of Muhammad Khattak on Mercury Road and seized evidence that may have included a laptop computer.
Not far away, police raided 320 Dixon Road, an apartment building said to be linked to the video. One resident of the building told CP24, “you what one of the officers told me? Because of Rob Ford’s situation, the whole building is getting raided.”
Police made between 30 and 40 arrests in the widespread raids.
Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair will hold a news conference on the raids at noon today.
