Imagine living like TV’s Jetsons in a world where you can drive a flying car!  It could soon be reality.  Carl Dietrich is the co-founder and CEO of Terrafugia Incorporated, a company that’s come up with a vehicle that flies.  He told the New AM 740’s Happy Gang, “the first one invented is called the Transition, a 2 seat general aviation airplane that can fold up its wings in under a minute, drive legally down the road at highway speeds, and it will fit inside a single car garage.  So basically it’s a flying driving vehicle and you would need a pilot’s license in order to operate it.  However our next generation project which we’ve just announced, is called a TFX, which is a vertical take off and landing hybrid propulsion vehicle that would have a high degree of human directed local autonomy which means basically you can get in it, tell it where you want to go, and the vehicle would be able to take you there.”

Carl Dietrich is among this year’s speakers at Moses Znaimer’s IdeaCity, coming to Koerner Hall June 19th, 20th and 21st.  For more information on attending Canada’s premier meeting of the minds go online to ideacityonline.com.
