It’s a great honour for Yoko Ono Lennon.

She’s been given the ASCAP Harry Chapin Humanitarian Award  for her efforts to raise money for the world’s poor  through the Imagine Theres No Hunger  campaign.

Why hunger is a charity founded in 1975 by the songwriter Harry Chapin.

It finances anti-poverty efforts throughout the world.

For the last six years, 80-year old Yoko Ono has teamed up with the Hard Rock Cafe International  to raise money for Why-Hungers projects collecting more than 1 million dollars.

She has also  allowed the use of John Lennon’s image and the slogan Imagine there’s no hunger from his song Imagine in fund-raising.
