It’s now up to the Speaker of the House of Commons to decide if Tory M-Ps Shelly Glover and James Bezan should be suspended.

Chief Electoral Officer Marc Mayrand has written Speaker Andrew Scheer to advise that  he suspend  the two Manitoba M-Ps because they refused to make requested changes regarding problems with their election expenses.

Glover and   Bezan say they will go to court over what they call erroneous interpretations on the part of Elections Canada.

Meanwhile–  M-Ps are expected to sit until 2 a-m Eastern time Wednesday morning to stand and be counted on some 14 votes on budget legislation.

The Tories put Parliament on an extended daily schedule, routinely sitting until midnight, on May 22nd.

They’ll maintain that pace until the summer recess, currently scheduled to begin June 21st.

Legislation being voted on includes another omnibus budget bill, a bill to legalize mixed martial arts prize fighting and changes to the witness protection program.
