The IKEA monkey trial is to begin in Oshawa today.
Yasmin Nakhuda; the woman who calls herself Darwin’s mother, is fighting to get him back from a sanctuary.
The monkey was scooped up last December when he was found wandering around a Toronto parking lot in a little faux-shearling coat.
Nakhuda claims she was tricked into surrendering Darwin, adding she’s willing to move to a jurisdiction that allows pet monkeys if that helps her get him back.
The trial’s set to be heard today and tomorrow as well as June 10 and 11.
