Friday may be the best day of the week for most of us but apparently not if you’re about to have surgery.
A new British study looking at four years of mortality rates has found that patients who have their surgery at the end of the week are the least likely to survive.
The highest survival rate was with patients who had their operation on a Monday.
Researchers aren’t sure why but one theory is that weekend post-op care may be below the weekday standard.
