A Senate committee looking into the expense claims scandal will ask the R-C-M-P to investigate after finding what it calls a troubling pattern.

That includes several days in 2011 when Duffy claimed living expenses while he campaigned for the Conservatives in that year’s election.

Duffy was a no-show at last night’s committee meeting.

The committee also asked the Mounties to look into the $90,000 given to Duffy to repay the government for his living expenses to which he was not entitled.

A cheque for that amount was given to Duffy by Nigel Wright, who was Prime Minister Harper’s chief of staff at the time.

Wright resigned 10 days ago after that became public.

Prime Minister Harper insists he had no prior knowledge of the cheque Wright made to Duffy.
