The Toronto Transit Commission is reacting to service cut-backs caused by striking employees of elevator maitenance companies.
The TTC is adding Wheel-Trans buses to its service.
TTC spokesman Brad Ross says 10 per cent of the Commission’s elevators are out of service.
Several locals of The International Union of Elevator Constructors have been on strike for almost two weeks.
Ross says extra Wheel-Trans buses are being put into service at strategic locations across the system to accomdate people in wheelchairs where elevators are shut down.
