The Conservatives are creating a dedicated team to pinpoint tax evaders and will be pouring 30-million-dollars over the next five years into the cause.
Half is money already announced in the March budget, the rest is being reallocated from elsewhere within the Canada Revenue Agency.
Revenue Minister Gail Shea says people who hide money overseas and get out of paying taxes put an unfair burden on taxpayers.
She says hunting down tax cheats will bring the government more tax revenue to help pay for social programs.
