That helped send the Dow above 15-thousand for the first time, though it pulled back from its highs, closing up 142 points to 14,974.

In Toronto, S&P/TSX composite index ended ahead 58 points at 12,438.

Meanwhile , BlackBerry users were hit with yet another a service outage in the morning, though the company would not say how widespread the problem was or how many users were affected.
