A movie opens in Canada tomorrow based on the true story of a New Brunswick man who battles bureaucracy to build a home for his wife, who is losing her memory.
James Cromwell and Genevieve Bujold star in Still Mine. Cromwell has played featured roles such as the Chauffeur in The Artist and Prince Philip in The Queen. He says this is the first time he has starred in a film, rather than playing a character part. He defines a character role as one who never gets the girl. But he says, in this movie he not only gets the girl – Genevieve Bujold – but he had a major crush on her in his college days.
Cromwell says Still Mine is similar to the Oscar-nominated Amour. But he says he welcomes the Canadian film’s more optimistic point of view.
Still Mine opens in Canadian theatres tomorrow.
