Expect to see Ontario’s minority Liberals unveil a series of NDP-friendly policies today ahead of the May 2nd budget.
A published report says Premier Wynne, Finance Minister Charles Sousa, and Health Minister Deb Matthews will pledge an increase in funding of home care for seniors. That’s one of the NDP’s conditions for helping to keep the government alive.
The finance minister yesterday explained that the budget will address the concerns of all Ontarians. Sousa says the government was constructed after consultations with the public.
The budget will be unveiled with a lower than anticipated deficit of 9.8 billion dollars. Sousa says he’ll stay focused on eliminating the deficit by 2017-18.
