Annette Funicello, who went from Mouseketeer to beach party movie icon, has died at the age of 70.

The Walt Disney Company says Funicello died in a California hospital of complications from multiple sclerosis.

Funicello was just 13-years-old when she was discovered by Walt Disney at a dance recital in 1955 and was picked for “The Mickey Mouse Club.”
