The Canadian National Exhibition  has sent a  “cease and desist”  letter to MGM Resorts International and Cadillac Fairview, claiming MGM is misrepresenting the CNE by using  official images in their communications.

The letter asks the two companies to stop using the images of the Princes Gates and the letters CNE in ads  for their casino proposal.

The CNE claims the two images are trademarked by the Canadian National Exhibition Association and  goes on to say that the casino proposal is incompatible with, and threatening to the existence of the CNE.

On March 6th  MGM Resorts International and Cadillac Fairview unveiled a detailed look at a hypothetical casino and luxury resort at the CNE.
Meanwhile – – The decision on a possible casino is going to be delayed by another month.

A Toronto staff report on the project has been delayed and won’t be ready to present to the Mayor’s Executive Committee next week -so  it won’t be ready for debate by City Council on April 3rd.

The next possible date would be council’s meeting on May 7th, unless the mayor calls a special session.
