It’s expected to be the nastiest winter storm since February 6th, 2008.  Toronto received over 30 centimetres of snow that day.  The system that’s forecast to move into southern Ontario arrives in earnest tonight.  And by the time it moves out Friday evening, we could be shoveling as much as 25 centimetres of snow.  City of Toronto work crews are getting ready.  This worker tells CP24, “we’re just checking the oil levels to make sure everything’s fine.  It’s important when they go out tomorrow that they don’t run out of oil.” 8- million kilograms of salt will be used during the storm,  delivered by 200 salt trucks.  600 snowplows will be ready to go, along with 3oo sidewalk plows.

A snowfall warning is in effect for Toronto and the rest of Southern Ontario.  The system is coming up from Texas. And it could bring anywhere up to 25 centimetres of snow to Southern and Eastern Ontario.
