A three-person committee is recommending that legal action be taken against Ward 7 York-West City Councillor , Giorgio Mammoliti.
The decision comes after it was discovered that Mammoliti violated the Municipal Elections Act during his successful 2010 re-election campaign.
A recent audit of Mammoliti’s s campaign finances discovered that he may have overspent the allowed limits by slightly over $12 thousand dollars.
Mammoliti faces the possibility of removal from office and being prohibited from running in future elections.
Toronto Mayor Rob Ford was recently found to have overspent on his campaign.
