The debate continues over who owns a $100 thousand dollar Steinway grand piano that’s housed at Brampton’s city-owned Rose Theatre.
Peel police say it’s up to the City and the Brampton Symphony Orchestra to work out the ownership.
Constable Thomas Ruttan says the dispute is a civil matter that will have to be settled by both parties.
A police investigation began after the BSO attempted to have the piano moved from the Rose two weeks ago – for what it described as routine maintenance.
But the move was stopped at the last minute by the city’s commissioner of community services, Jamie Lower.
Each side says it has documentation proving it owns the Steinway grand.
