It was another big weekend for Argo.

The C-I-A hostage drama, with its Canadian connection, won for overall cast performance at the Screen Actors Guild Awards last night. It follows the movie being picked as Best Picture by the Producer’s Guild on Saturday.

Daniel Day-Lewis won a SAG Award for his work in the title role  in the Civil War epic Lincoln. He notes that Lincoln was killed by an actor, so it seems right that an actor occasionally tries to bring him back to life.

And the SAG Lifetime Achievement Award went to a television legend. Dick Van Dyke told the audience he’s been in the entertainment business for about 70 years and he’s still not sure what it is that he does.

The 87-year-old says actors have always called him a dancer, dancers have always considered him a singer, and singers say he’s an actor. Now, with a lifetime achievement award from the Screen Actors’ Guild, he says that gives him the right to refer to actors as his peers.
