Attiwapiskat Chief Theresa Spence says it’s time for other chiefs to take over her fight.
Spence has emerged from hospital after a short stay following her six-week liquids only diet.
She ended her hunger protest when fellow chiefs and the leaders of the federal opposition parties agreed to push for her 13-point declaration on treaty rights.
Spence thanked family, friends and supporters for being there for her during the 43 days she spent in her teepee on Victoria Island, near Parliament Hill.
In a separate news conference in Vancouver, Assembly of First Nations chief Shawn Atleo emerged from a sick leave to say the Idle No More movement will continue.
