14-YEAR OLD ROYAL CONSERVATORY STUDENT WINS BIG IN ARIZONA

A great honour  for a fourteen-year-old Toronto pianist.

Tony Yike Yang  has placed first in the prestigious  Bösendorfer and Yamaha  International Piano Competition in  Arizona.

Yang is  a scholarship student of The Royal Conservatory’s Young Artists Academy.

He  was honoured with the Addona-Burns Award, a Gold Medal and a cash prize of $3,000.

Pianists from 31 countries applied to compete.

Jury members for the 2013 competition included renowned pianist  Martha Argerich of Argentina.

Tony studies with James Anagnoson, Dean of The Glenn Gould School at The Royal Conservatory.
