Sir Tom Stoppard is being honoured by the Writers Guild of America next month.
The renowned British writer will receive the Guild’s Lifetime Achievement Award in Los Angeles.
Howard Rodman is Vice-President of the Writers Guild of America West. He says Stoppard brings “wit, elegance, and heart to all he composes”.
Stoppard’s recent screenplays include the current Anna Karenina. He won an Oscar for Shakespeare in Love in 1999.
Stoppard’s many stage plays include The Real Thing, Arcadia, and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. He also wrote an English libretto for Sergei Prokofiev’s satirical opera, The Love For Three Oranges.
