The Toronto District School Board appears to be struggling with how to proceed in finding a replacement for Chris Spence.
Spence resigned as Director of Education at the TDSB in the wake of a plagiarism scandal.
Trustees met last night to appoint an interim director and form a search committee to find a permanent director. But after almost four hours behind closed doors, no decision was made.
There’s no information on what caused the delay, but there are reports the meeting was a contentious one. Board Chair Chris Bolton says trustees want to make sure they make the right choice.
There are reports that a motion was tabled to ensure that the interim director cannot seek the job on a permanent basis.
They will meet again tomorrow night.
