The number of motorists charged with impaired driving on provincial highways over the holidays is the highest it’s been in eight years.  Provincial Police say close to 7-hundred people were charged with driving over the legal blood alcohol level of .08.  During last year’s campaign, OPP officers charged just over 680 motorists with impaired driving.  This year’s Festive RIDE campaign was conducted from November 24th to January 2nd with OPP RIDE stops set up around the clock throughout the province.
