As of midnight, the McGuinty government will be in a position to impose contracts on teachers and staff under Bill 115.

But the education minister won’t be doing that right away.

Laurel Broten says ”it’s not automatic” and will have ”more to say” at a news conference Thursday.

So far, only 65 of 469 school bargaining units have ratified deals.

The legislation freezes the pay of most teachers, reduces their ability to bank sick days and limits their right to strike.
