How can zoomers give back?  Gail Nyberg says it’s as simple as making a donation to the Daily Bread Food Bank’s Holiday drive.  As Executive Director, Nyberg told the New AM 740’s Goldhawk Fights Back, donations are not coming in like they usually do.  In fact, she says this is the slowest year she’s seen yet.  “I have a full compliment of volunteers on the 26th and 27th and I’m afraid that I won’t have enough food for them to sort.  Christmas Day has pretty well been looked after.  This is to make sure there’s stuff there in January and February.”

The Daily Bread’s holiday drive goal is a million pounds of food and $1.5 million.  So far, 400-thousand pounds of food has been donated and $1.1 million.

Food donations can be dropped off at any local fire hall, Loblaws, No Frills, Valu-mart, Real Canadian Superstore or any other participating grocery store.  Cash donations can be made by going online to dailybread.ca.
