As parents scramble to deal with the situation – more locations are being revealed for the next round of one-day strikes by the union representing Ontario’s public elementary teachers.
Several boards will be targeted on Thursday, as teachers continue to protest a law allowing the government to stop strikes, freeze wages and cut benefits.
Thursday’s walkouts involve the Thames Valley board and the Limestone board which covers Lennox and Addington county and Frontenac county, which includes Kingston.
Also targeted on Thursday are the Superior-Greenstone board in northwestern Ontario and the Upper Canada board in the Brockville area of eastern Ontario.
Walkouts took place today in the Hamilton area and three school boards in northern Ontario and tomorrow the planned strikes move to Toronto and seven other boards in southern and central Ontario.
On Wednesday, it will be the Bluewater board the Algoma board and the Halton board, which includes the Burlington and Oakville areas west of Toronto.
