It is the morning after an historic night in Toronto!  The Toronto Argos beat the Calgary Stampeders 35-22 to win the 100th Grey Cup.  It’s the first Grey Cup title for the Argos on home turf in 60 years.

The CFL season could not have played out any better for the Toronto Argos, who won the 100th Grey Cup in front of a crowd of 53,000 fans at Rogers Centre and millions across the country who watched on television.   Coach Scott Milanovich was brought in this season to turn the team around, a goal he says he was happy to achieve for the players.  “To me, it’s not the plays in the game that you remember, it’s in the locker room, it’s that moment on the stage, it’s the relationship with these guys and the bond they’re going to have for a lifetime now.”

Argos quarterback Ricky Ray lived up to his reputation.  Ray, who was acquired from Edmonton last December, completed 18 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns.  Ray brought in to help get the Argos to the 100th Grey Cup, but he says he took this in stride.  “I didn’t feel that pressure.  I knew I was just one piece of the puzzle and just tried to come here and do my job.  We’ve got so many great players on this team.  You look at our defense and how they played tonight.  And all the guys on offence that stepped up.  I mean, this is a pretty special team.”

Earlier in the night, the half time show at the 100th Grey Cup featured a very special zoomer moment.  74 year old Canadian music icon Gordon Lightfoot captivated the crowd with a gentle rendition of his 1967 hit, “Canadian Railroad Trilogy”.
