Four years of an informal truce have unravelled in recent weeks, after a bout of rocket attacks from Gaza and retaliatory air strikes from Israel.
More than 200 rockets have been sent flying into Israel today by Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip, killing three people. There are reports that 16 Palestinians have been killed.
The attacks threaten to trigger an Israeli ground invasion of Gaza.
Israel has moved troops toward the border, and the army says it’s prepared to draft as many as 30-thousand additional service members.
