The body of former Ontario Lieutenant-Governor Lincoln Alexander is lying in state at Queen’s Park.
A procession carrying his casket arrived yesterday from Hamilton.
Alexander was Canada’s first black Member of Parliament and Cabinet Minister. He later became the first black Vice-Regal when he was appointed Lieutenant-Governor.
Visiting hours are from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Queen’s Park today. Alexander’s body will then lie in state at Hamilton City Hall for the next two days.
A state funeral for Lincoln Alexander will be held in Hamilton on Friday.
