Producers of Phantom of the Opera have chosen one of their many Christine Daae’s to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary on Broadway.
Sierra Boggess will reprise the role of Christine beginning the week of January 21st for what producers say is at least five-week gig. That means she will be on stage when Phantom celebrates its silver anniversary on January 26th.
Boggess is very familiar with the role of Christine. She opened a Las Vegas production in 2006 and played it for London’s 25th anniversary show at The Royal Albert Hall a year ago. She also originated the role of Christine in Love Never Dies, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s sequel to Phantom.
Boggess is currently starring in London as Fantine in Les Misérables. Her other Broadway credits include playing the title role in Disney’s The Little Mermaid and opposite Tyne Daly in the Broadway revival of Master Class.
