A philanthropic group is the latest winner of the MOCCA Award from the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art.
The prize comes with $25,000 and goes to “Partners in Art” a Toronto-based group that supports and champions Canadian visual art.
The group of about 75 dedicated arts patrons was created 10 years ago and has raised and distributed more than $800,000 to support Canadian artists at home and abroad.
MOCCA will present the award to “Partners in Art” at a gala next april at the Art Gallery of Ontario.
The prize is sponsored by BMO Financial Group.
Past recipients have included artist Michael Snow, AGO CEO Matthew Teitelbaum and photographer Edward Burtynsky.
