Ontario’s Energy Minister is facing a serious rebuke at Queen’s Park this morning. The Opposition Conservatives will introduce a motion accusing Chris Bentley of contempt of the legislature over his refusal to release documents related to the Liberals’ decision to move two gas plants out of the GTA.

The government finally did release 36,000 pages of documents yesterday after months of delay, but the opposition isn’t satisfied. They accuse the Liberals of spending $230-million to move the plants out of the GTA before last fall’s election because they were unpopular in the ridings and the liberal candidates might suffer at the polls.

If Bentley is found guilty, he could face jail time, but will more likely be forced to apologize publicly.
