TTC SUBWAY SERVICE SLOWER THAN USUAL

There is no subway service on the University Spadina line between Lawrence West and Downsview Stations this morning after a TTC worker was killed at track level by a service train near Yorkdale at about 5am.  Shuttle buses are running in place.

TTC spokesperson Jessica Martin says the subway shutdown in this stretch has caused further problems.  She says, “It also impacted our ability to get trains out of Wilson Yard, and as a result, there are about half the trains that we normally have during rush hour on the Yonge-University-Spadina line.  So customers can expect a slower commute this morning.”

Trains have also been pulled from the Bloor Danforth line to cover off the other line, so that will cause longer waits for Bloor Danforth riders as well.
