After a month of debate, accusations, and threats of court challenges, the Ontario government’s legislation to force a new deal on teachers is expected to pass its final vote today.

The opposition Conservatives have said they will support the bill, giving the minority Liberals enough votes to see the bill become law.

The Liberals say they need to freeze wages and cut sick day benefits to lower the province’s fifteen billion dollar deficit. Leaders of public elementary and high school teachers’ unions have said they plan to fight the bill in court.
