Newly-minted Republican standard-bearer Mitt Romney addressed the party’s national convention last night for the first time. And he brought a little star power with him.

Hollywood star Clint Eastwood took to the stage on the final night of convention to throw his support behind Romney and running mate Paul Ryan. Eastwood’s appearance took a bizarre turn when he proceeded to have a rambling and surreal conversation with an empty chair meant to be U-S President Barack Obama.

That prompted an instant response from the Obama campaign on twitter of a photo of the back of the president’s chair, with Obama’s head peeking over it, along with the line: “This seat’s taken.”

In his acceptance speech, Romney said U-S President Barack Obama policies have failed and won’t create jobs.
