Retired cyclist Lance Armstrong is about to be stripped of his seven Tour de France titles and faces a lifetime ban from cycling because of accusations of doping.
The sanctions by the U-S Anti-Doping Agency were announced last night following Armstrong’s announcement that he will no longer fight doping allegations.
He has always maintained his innocence, but says he’s grown weary of fighting what he insists are false charges, and says there comes a point when enough is enough.
Armstrong is accused of taking performance enhancing drugs to win cycling’s premier event between 1999 and 2005.
