A class action lawsuit alleging sexual harassment of female R-C-M-P officers had its first hearing in court today, while another officer joined the suit — and allowed her name to be made public.
Valerie MacLean says a higher-ranking male officer harassed her, telling her a relationship with him would be a good career move.
MacLean is one of 200 women who have come forward to join the suit against the Mounties.
In a separate suit, former Corporal Catherine Galliford says abuse drove her to alcoholism and post-traumatic stress disorder.
The federal government denies her allegations.
