Concrete has fallen from the underside of the Gardiner Expressway once again.  It happened between 3am and 4am today at Lakeshore Boulevard and Bathurst Street.  As a precaution, Toronto Police have closed Bathurst between Fort York Boulevard and the Lakeshore.  John Bryson is the City Manager for Structure Expressway Design and Construction.  He is assessing the situation and says he suspects yesterday’s extreme heat may have caused the concrete to loosen.   It was just last month, concrete from underneath the Gardiner hit a mercedes at Lakeshore and Jarvis Street.  There have been other similar incidents this year and last year as well.
