Another Heat Record Falls As Temperature Rises

We’ve done it again.

Another heat record has been broken  as Toronto hit 36.2 degrees this afternoon.

That beats the high temperature for this date one year ago – of 35.2 degrees.

Meteorologist Geoff Coulson at Environment Canada says this blistering hot weather in southern Ontario is “all too common” during the summer and people should not panic about it. 

Coulson also says  intense heat increases the chance of thunderstorms and a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for  the G-T-A  and much of southern Ontario.
