Organizers say the inaugural  Italian Contemporary Film Festival was a major success.

Ticket sales exceeded  90% at the festival’s  three venues: the TIFF Bell Lightbox, the Royal Cinema and the AMC Interchange in Vaughan.

The six-day festival  featured a lineup of 16 film premieres representing the best in new Italian cinema.

Hundreds of fans attended galas for the opening and for the closing night..which was held on the grounds of the Italian Consulate,  decorated in honour of Woody Allen’s newest film “TO ROME WITH LOVE.”

The festival  provides a showcase for the best in new Italian cinema celebrating  the diversity of Italian culture.
