It was a revolutionary year  for the Luminato Festival of arts and creativity.

Jorn Weisbrodt made his debut as  artistic director and by the time the 10-day schedule wrapped in grand style on Sunday, June 17, Luminato  had presented 14 commissioned and co-commissioned new works and over 200 events at 25 theatres, museums, parks and public spaces throughout Toronto, including eight landmark premieres.

More than 500 volunteers  enriched  the Luminato experience for audiences and artists alike.

Weisbrodt says countless artists came up to him  and raved about the festival…saying  they had never been treated better anywhere in the world and loved Toronto.

Now it’s on to next year.  The festival  takes place from June 14 – 23, 2013.
