We could be in for more record breaking heat here in Toronto. The previous record for June 21st was back in 1949 when the temperature hit 33.3 degrees celcius. The city of Toronto set a new record yesterday … as the temperature climbed to 34.6 celcius … breaking the previous record of 34.4 set in 1949.
Today is the first full day of summer, and it will be another steamy one. A humidex advisory continues….we have a smog advisory as well…and the city’s extreme heat alert continues.
Friday will be much more comfortable, but forecasters say we’re not done with the hot weather yet. Environment Canada senior climatologist Dave Phillips says most parts of the country will see temperatures above historic averages over the next three months.
