NASA’s Voyager 1 spacecraft is once again sending science data.

According to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the spacecraft’s four instruments are now back in business, following a computer problem in November.

The team says it first received meaningful information from Voyager 1 back in April, and recently instructed it to start sending science data.

Launched in 1977, Voyager 1 is the most distant spacecraft from Earth, currently some 24.3 billion kilometres away.

The spacecraft is exploring interstellar space, or the space between star systems.

Its twin, Voyager 2, is working just fine.
